Description
Running effective and safe training exercises is one of the most important skills for a law enforcement instructor to possess.
A Scenario Instructor is required in all DOJ academy exercises that include simulated or actual use of force and strongly recommended in department run exercises as well. This training will certify instructors for the following:
- Conducting in-house training in Defensive Tactics, Tactical Response, and decision making.
- In-class drills, exercises, and experiences
- End-of-phase Academy Integration Exercises
- End-of-academy scenario training and scenario testing
Instructors will learn how to serve in all three capacities (Exercise Control Officer, Safety Coordinator, and Scenario Administrator) with confidence and gain an understanding of what it takes to design, setup, and run effective and safe police training. Instructor candidates will be able to assist with and run real academy exercises to put this certification in practical experience!
