Description
This course will focus on death investigations encountered most frequently by investigators. The course includes instruction involving suicides, drug overdoses, infant deaths, and various forms of homicide. Significant aspects of death investigation--from the death scene to investigative conclusion will be presented. In addition, students will learn how to effectively assist prosecutors before, during, and after the trial of criminal defendants.
Examples of homicide investigations will be studied along with the methodology used to apprehend the killers will be discussed. Mistakes made during death investigations will also be discussed to enable attendees to learn and benefit from the experience of others.
