Description:

Train in the pre-hospital emergency care procedures that will qualify you for Wisconsin Licensure as an emergency medical technician.

Extra Info:

Course will meet in person on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 am - 12:50 pm. Each week will also contain 5 hours of independent online content. (75% in person, 25% online). 

Students must attend a mandatory program expectation session. Sessions will take place via Zoom at the following times:

May 8th, 2024 - 10:00 - 12:00
May 13th, 2024 - 14:00 - 16:00

Links to the zoom meetings will be sent to students prior to the sessions.

Course Prerequisites:

Students must obtain a valid BLS Provider or equivalent certificate prior to class. Acceptable certificates are determined by the Department of Health Services.

Student will use Viewpoint Screening to meet the clinical requirements of the course. Additional information may be found at www.wctc.edu/emt.

It is strongly recommended that students possess a background knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology obtained through prior education.

Additional Information:

 

Students should generally expect to spend between 30 and 40 hours on course work; including classroom, online, homework, and studying. 

Due to the time commitments of this class, it is highly recommended for students to cut back to part-time employment while taking the class.
