Waukesha County Technical College to host Public Safety Meet and Greet April 14
"We appreciate our public safety partners for helping us not only highlight our College and the Criminal Justice Studies program, but also the opportunities each agency has for prospective employees." -- Jodi Crozier, WCTC associate dean of Law Enforcement
PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Thursday, April 2, 2026) – Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) invites members of the community along with current and potential students to its Public Safety Meet and Greet on Tuesday, April 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will be held in the Anthony J. Natalizio Center (AJN Center), Building S, on the main Pewaukee Campus.
This joint meet and greet, which has a combined focus on law enforcement and fire/EMS, serves as a one-stop shop for those looking to explore careers in these fields while offering access to a number of police, sheriff’s and fire departments, along with other local agency partners. Current program students and faculty will also be available to talk with attendees.
"The Public Safety Meet and Greet is a great event for those interested in firefighting or emergency medical services to learn more about the career or even opportunities for part-time volunteer work in a fast-paced, service-oriented field,” said Courtney Hull, WCTC associate dean of Fire and EMS Training. “There are many opportunities for those looking to get started, and prospective students can even obtain affiliation or sponsorship with a local fire or EMS agency to help pay for their training/education while getting real-world experience.”
In addition to fire and EMS pathways, the event highlights the significant demand for law enforcement professionals and the academic programs that support them.
"We appreciate our public safety partners for helping us not only highlight our College and the Criminal Justice Studies program, but also the opportunities each agency has for prospective employees," said Jodi Crozier, WCTC associate dean of Law Enforcement.
Expected attendees include a diverse range of regional departments and agencies. A sample of participating employers includes:
- Law Enforcement: Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Menomonee Falls Police Department, Village of Pewaukee Police Department, Federal Bureau of Prisons – North Central Region, Greenfield Police Department and more.
- Fire and EMS: City of Waukesha Fire Department, City of New Berlin Fire Department, Lake Country Fire Rescue, Orange Cross Ambulance, Inc., Western Lakes Fire District and more.
Representatives from these organizations will be on hand to speak to the many types of positions available – from law enforcement officers to emergency communications professionals to firefighters and paramedics – as well as share information about the hiring process, physical readiness requirements and employer-sponsored education opportunities.
Event guests can also learn about WCTC certificate, technical diploma and associate degree programs offered within the College’s School of Protective & Human Services, along with dual enrollment offerings for high school juniors and seniors.
Additionally, interactive fire/EMS and law enforcement demonstrations are planned for 4:15 p.m., 4:45 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. This includes:
