Why WCTC?
Services for High School Counselors
We're here to provide you and your students with knowledge and support during the college and career selection process. Don't see what you're looking for? Let us know how we can be a resource for you, and we'll work to build a program around it.
Admission Workshops
On-site admission workshops, held in high schools and at community events, allow students to be admitted directly to WCTC. Enrollment counselors help students apply to a WCTC program at no cost. This is an excellent opportunity for students to receive guidance and learn about the resources available to WCTC students.
Presentations
Our enrollment counselors are available to present Pathways to Access College and Careers (PACC) curriculum in high schools and the community. Inspired by Academic and Career Planning (ACP), this curriculum aims to educate students and families on overcoming barriers to getting into college and accomplishing their career goals.
Individual and Group Appointments
WCTC enrollment counselors are available for one-on-one or group meetings with students. Held at high schools or in the community, these meetings offer an opportunity for individualized guidance and support in career and program exploration.
Individual Tours
Offered daily, our guided walking tours provide a first-hand look at everything WCTC has to offer.
Group Tours
Our 90-minute group tours include a brief overview of WCTC and a general campus tour.
Events
Events are held throughout the year to help students explore WCTC, complete their FAFSA, register for classes and more.
Appointments
Enrollment counselors are available to meet with students in person, virtually via Zoom or by phone.

WCTC Admissions Process
When a student applies to WCTC, an email is sent to the address provided on their application with a username and password providing access to their application status. No student is ever denied admission by WCTC.
Transcripts and ACT Scores
If the program the student applies to requires a placement assessment, the student can do any of the following for admission:
- Submit unofficial High School transcripts through the 11th grade with a cumulative GPA of 2.60 or above. If the transcript has a weighted and unweighted GPA, we will use the unweighted GPA for admission.
- Submit their unofficial ACT score, regardless of the score obtained.
- Submit unofficial college transcripts in the specific placement area and earn a grade of C or better. If students have college credits through WCTC, a transcript request is not required.
- If none of the above are applicable, the student should take the ACCUPLACER placement test.
Application Fee Waivers
Reach out to your assigned enrollment counselor for students to be considered for a waiver of the $30 program application fee due to economic need. Application waivers are also frequently given out at on-campus events. Please encourage students to attend!
Credit by Examination
Students may be awarded college credit by achieving a satisfactory score on an exam with nationally recognized standards, including Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DSST (formerly DANTES Subject Standardized Tests), and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams. An official score report must be submitted.
