PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Monday, May 12, 2025) – More than 550 WCTC students who will be graduating from associate degree, technical diploma and apprenticeship programs are getting ready to cross the stage at two spring commencement ceremonies this Saturday, May 17.
WCTC’s Saturday morning ceremony will be at 10 a.m. for students in programs within the schools of Arts & Sciences, Business, and Protective & Human Services; the Saturday afternoon ceremony will be at 1:30 p.m. for students in programs within the School of Applied Technologies and the School of Health. Both will be held in the Anthony J. Natalizio (AJN) Center, within the College’s Service Building (S Building), main Pewaukee campus.
Four Outstanding Student Award recipients – those who embody the spirit and mission of WCTC -- will be honored. Students are selected based on their academic performance, credits completed, leadership experience and involvement in campus activities.
They are:
• School of Applied Technologies – Timothy Conn, Graphic Design
• School of Business – Ashley Jones, Hospitality Management
• School of Health – Andre Porter, Nursing (Student speaker, afternoon)
• School of Protective & Human Services – Brian Rodman, Criminal Justice Studies (Student speaker, morning)
Also, the Grit Award will be presented to one graduating student who demonstrates the characteristics of courage, resolve, strength of character, perseverance and determination in reaching their long-term goals. This year’s recipient is Donna Brendal, who will earn her associate degree in Human Services Associate.
Additionally, Chef Aaron Bickham, corporate executive chef for Bartolotta’s Restaurants, and Marc Holland, chief operating officer and president of Inpro, will each receive an Outstanding Service Award. This award is presented to an individual who gives of their time, talent, skills and resources toward the advancement of technical education.
Besides the official College commencement, students in several programs have held – or will hold -- celebrations this month, including the Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement Academy graduation, nurse pinning ceremony and individual program showcases. On May 1, several students were honored at the National Technical Honor Society/Tri-Alpha Induction Ceremony and Spring Awards Ceremony.
On Friday, May 16, more than 250 high school juniors and seniors will participate in WCTC’s Dual Enrollment Academy completion ceremony. DEA allows high school students to explore high-demand fields and earn college credit while still in high school.
