Interior Design students win Milwaukee NARI student design competition

A team of four WCTC Interior Design students – Keith Modlinski, Jessica Ashley, Carley Semmelmann and Kim Kozinski – placed first in the student design competition held during the Milwaukee National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Spring Home Improvement Show Feb. 16-19 at Wisconsin State Fair Park. The students had less than three weeks of lead time to tackle the budget and scope of the project, which was to design an industrial-themed 12-ft by 12-ft space.
The team collaborated, shopped for products and constructed props for this special project as part of their capstone class, Applied Interior Design. The group competed with students from Gateway Technical College, Milwaukee Area Technical College and Mount Mary University.
The space was also featured on a Fox6 segment.
