Collegiate DECA members earn multiple awards at state conference

Several WCTC Marketing students competed – and placed – in the Collegiate DECA State Career Development Conference held at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wis., Feb 22-25. Students from Wisconsin technical colleges and University of Wisconsin campuses attended the event and competed in testing, prepared events, case studies and management institutes. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Congratulations to the following students/groups for their achievements!

Specialty Awards/Recognitions

• Collegiate DECA-Professional Development Council Student of the Year: Rebekah Banaszak – 1^st Place, Ryan Tan – 2^nd Place

• Civic Consciousness Award: WCTC Chapter (For raising money for the Collegiate DECA Relief Fund, which will help those affected by natural disasters this past year)

• Diamond Trophy: WCTC Chapter, 3^rd Place (For displaying overall leadership in four areas: Career Understanding, Civic Consciousness, Social Intelligence and Leadership Development)

• Rebekah Banaszak, WCTC Collegiate DECA president, was elected Wisconsin Collegiate DECA vice president
