Alumni Spotlight: Hailey Kozlosky '25, Cosmetology

“I always wanted to ensure that people felt good and looked good. Being a person who cares deeply about how I have an effect on people, I figured out that cosmetology would be the best option for me.” -- Hailey Kozlosky '25, Cosmetology graduate

WCTC graduate Hailey Kozlosky ‘25 knew she wanted a career helping others build their inner confidence and outer style. Today, her work in the beauty industry is doing just that.

“I always wanted to ensure that people felt good and looked good,” Kozlosky said. “Being a person who cares deeply about how I have an effect on people, I figured out that cosmetology would be the best option for me.”

Since she was a little girl, Kozlosky had a faYoung woman sitting in sunscination with hair, and by the time she started middle school, she began experimenting with color and dyeing her own hair different shades. “And that’s where I really found the love for doing hair,” she said. “My favorite services I always do are highlighting services and transformative color.”

Now, as a licensed professional stylist, Kozlosky is embracing her passion and helping others elevate their look through flattering new cuts, vibrant, dimensional color and other services.

Just last month, Kozlosky made a big career move by becoming an independent stylist. She spent about a year working at a corporate salon, and in September, she began Hair by Hailey Amie located at the contemporary Benesseré Salon and Spa Suites in Pewaukee. In deciding on a cosmetology school, Kozlosky chose Waukesha County Technical College for its proximity to home, along with its affordability factor. While working on her technical diploma, she gained practice and expanded her professional network as a member of the Cosmetology Club and also found a strong support system in the faculty.

"All the instructors in the Cosmetology program have always been so wonderful and supportive throughout my time as a student," said Kozlosky, who graduated in May 2025. "Each one of them cared for us like we were their own children, no matter what age."

Kozlosky said her technical education has helped her establish a solid foundation of professional skills, ones she will continue to build upon moving forward. While still early in her career, she is ambitious about the future and envisions a “booming business.” As she continues to learn and grow as a stylist, she remains dedicated to helping clients look and feel their absolute best.
