The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Richard T. Anderson (RTA) Education Center on WCTC’s main Pewaukee Campus, 800 Main Street.

Featured speaker Tom Walsh, a labor market economist with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, will provide the keynote address at 5:30 p.m. Walsh will present information on regional employment data, emerging career paths and highlight hot jobs which, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, are careers that combine fast employment growth, high wages and strong overall demand.

This event is designed to provide insight to help career changers, job seekers and prospective students chart out new possibilities for high-growth careers.

“Adults considering a career change or a return to school don’t always know exactly where to start, and they shouldn’t have to figure it out alone,” said Ashleigh Zarling, dean of Enrollment Management. Future Proof Your Career brings together workforce insights, career exploration and WCTC experts to help people understand where opportunities exist and what it could take to get there. We want attendees to leave feeling more confident about what’s next and knowing there are people at WCTC ready to help them take that next step.”

Attendees will also have opportunities to discover WCTC academic programs that are aligned with local workforce needs, map out career plans using WCTC resources, talk with College faculty and tour the campus.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and light refreshments will be available. Campus tours and program exploration are planned for 6 to 7 p.m.
