What is the ALEKS?

The ALEKS Math placement exam is a web-based assessment tool to accurately assess, prepare and place students into the appropriate level of Math course.

  • Once you purchase the ALEKS, you'll have the opportunity to take five assessments.
  • Test prep is built in and customized for you.

Engineering is a math-intensive field of study.

  • A score of 14 or higher (or placement into 834-110 Elementary Algebra) is required for admission into the Electrical Engineering Technology program.
  • We encourage students to take the ALEKS to improve your Math placement if you are below Calculus 1. Each additional Math course to build up to Calculus 1 will extend the time it takes to complete your degree.
