Registration Planning
If you're a newly-admitted program student, you must complete New Student Orientation, where you will register for your first semester classes.
How many credits should I register for?
Here are a few important things to consider when determining the amount of credits to take each semester:
- Work hours
- Child care
- Family responsibilities
- Extracurricular activities
- Study time commitment (Plan to study two to three hours per credit per week for traditional 16-week courses. Shorter courses may require more time per week.)
- Timeframe for graduation
- Accommodation needs
- Costs including tuition, books and supplies
- Financial aid availability
- Veteran benefits
- Course availability
Which courses should I choose?
Choosing the right courses depends on several factors, including:
- Placement scores
- Potential plans to transfer
- Transportation and commute time
- Prerequisites and program restrictions
- Attendance requirements
