Running effective and safe training exercises is one of the most important skills for a law enforcement instructor to possess.
A Scenario Instructor is required in all DOJ academy exercises that include simulated or actual use of force and strongly recommended in department run exercises as well. This training will certify instructors to do the following with confidence:
- Conduct in-house training scenarios that allow for critical thinking and decision making.
- Establish clear objectives for scenario exercises that will help determine the performance of those completing them.
After completion of this course, instructor candidates will also be certified to assist with Law Enforcement Academy End-of-academy scenario training and scenario testing in the role of an Exercise Control Officer and a Safety Coordinator.
Instructors will walk away with an understanding of what it takes to design, setup, and run effective and safe police training.
