Description
The number of drug overdoses and overdose deaths are increasing for agencies of all sizes with a record number of deaths each year. Drug overdoses and overdose deaths are complex and time consuming and require additional patrol officer and patrol supervisor training and resources.
This course is intended for patrol officers and patrol supervisors responding to overdose calls and conducting the initial investigation.
There are four distinct phases to the drug overdose death investigations. This course will cover essential topics in the first two phases of the drug overdose death investigation. The subsequent phases are covered in the Drug Overdose Death Investigation course, scheduled on October 16, 2026.
