Description
This basic how-to course will provide the fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities that are critical to the success of every professional criminal investigator. Students will augment their skills using scenario-based instruction and in-class assignments involving actual and fictional criminal investigations in order to assess the need for a search warrant, determine what evidence can and should be sought, and properly develop and apply for a valid search warrant and related court orders.
Students will write multiple affidavits, discuss them in class and submit one for assessment and instructor feedback.
