LPN Progression Transition

Course Description

Designed for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), this course prepares you to transition into the role of the Registered Nurse (RN) through written assignments, case studies, simulation and skills demonstration. Gain an introduction to WCTC, its technology and the Nursing - Associate Degree program. Continue to develop critical thinking skills through the Nursing Process. Review physical assessment, pharmacology, pathophysiology, laboratory values, clinical skills and therapeutic communication from an evidence-based practice perspective. Expand your management and communication skills to care for multiple clients across the lifespan. Improve your confidence and performance in a variety of basic nursing skills, including physical assessment, aseptic and sterile technique, medication administration, IV therapy and nasogastric tube management. Upon completion, students are required to perform a successful skills competency demonstration.
