Nursing Health Promotion
Course Description
Learn to promote health for individuals and families throughout the lifespan. Explore nursing care of the developing family, including reproductive issues, pregnancy, labor and delivery, post-partum, the newborn and the child. Apply mental health principles to discern patterns associated with adaptive and maladaptive behaviors across the spectrum of healthy families. Learn to teach and support healthy lifestyle choices for individuals of all ages, including nutrition, exercise, stress management, empowerment and risk reduction practices. Study family dynamics, functions, discipline styles and stages of development.
