Hybrid
Gain skills to work as an elementary or middle school paraprofessional. Learn to plan and prepare lessons, create and maintain a safe and effective learning environment, and develop and deliver meaningful learning experiences. Participate in principled teaching, including self-reflection, professional growth and purposeful engagement within the broader school community.
Please note: A physical examination and caregiver background check is required prior to a field placement internship course.
How To Start
- Obtain employment for teacher apprenticeship training; this is the responsibility of the individual seeking an apprenticeship.
- Apply and be admitted into the Foundations of Teacher Education program.
- Register for courses.

Financial Aid
This apprenticeship does not qualify for financial aid. To qualify for most federal financial aid, a student must be enrolled in a technical diploma or associate degree program.

- Registered Teacher Apprentices receive eight hours of release time from their workplace to attend class.
- Transfer up to 72 credits to Lakeland University.
- Earn the Foundations of Teacher Education associate degree at WCTC before continuing the apprenticeship at Lakeland University.
