WCTC partners with employers and community organizations to offer applied, real-world capstone projects for students in our IT programs. These projects allow student teams to apply the skills they have built to authentic business challenges while delivering practical value to partner organizations.
Submit a Capstone Project Proposal
Employers and business partners interested in collaborating with WCTC students are invited to submit a proposal.
WCTC faculty will review submissions and follow up regarding fit, expectations and next steps.
Capstone Project Requirements
To be considered, capstone proposals must:
- Align with the specific program curriculum
- Identify clear deliverables
- Outline data access, tools and any privacy or confidentiality considerations
- Fit within the academic semester timeline
- Include employer mentorship through periodic check-ins
Deliverables are provided “as is,” and organizations must be prepared to continue or support the project after the capstone course concludes.
What Makes a Strong Capstone Project?
Successful capstone proposals typically:
- Address a real business problem or opportunity
- Have clear goals, scope, and expected outcomes
- Provide access to relevant data, systems or subject matter expertise
- Are achievable within a single academic semester
- Include an employer point of contact for guidance and feedback
