Program Waitlists
Securing Your Spot in WCTC's In-Demand Programs
At WCTC, we're setting the pace for higher education. The program waitlist process provides a clear and consistent path to securing a spot in our high-demand programs. Students admitted into our waitlist programs progress through three stages:
Pre-Core
A Pre-Core student is not yet academically prepared to begin core program courses. Pre-Core students can begin taking general education courses and working to meet the academic preparedness criteria for their program. You can view this criteria by going to the program page.
Core-Ready
A Core-Ready student has met the required academic preparedness requirements for their program. Core-Ready students will then be prioritized by admittance date and residency status for seat selection. Based on this criteria, Core-Ready students will have priority over other admitted students in future terms.
Core-Active
A Core-Active student is currently enrolled in core program courses. As seats become available, students will be notified via email to register for core program courses.
How are Waitlist Students Prioritized?
If a program is high demand and at capacity, a program waitlist will be established. Students applying to waitlist programs will be added to the waitlist after they have completed all of their program's admission requirements. Once admitted, students are added onto the waitlist as an Admitted: Pre-Core status. It is important for all students to apply and be admitted as early as possible to secure their spot on the program waitlist.
Students are prioritized by their admittance date (completion of all admission requirements) and residency status. WCTC follows the residency priority dates outlined in the TCS 10.07 Wisconsin State Statute.
