Get a taste of what the IT industry has to offer. Build foundational IT skills while earning college credit in IT Support, IT Essentials and more. This program prepares you well for more advanced education and sets you up for a strong start in your IT career.
Your tuition is covered! Students in this track only pay for textbooks and our mandatory student accident-only insurance ($4.50 per semester).

What will I learn in the Pretech for IT Support certificate?
You will learn foundational IT skills, and explore different pathways in IT. This certificate teaches the basics of hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer support.You will take these classes:
- Application Suite
- IT Support
- IT Essentials
- Network Fundamentals*
*Network Fundamentals is optional. If you take Network Fundamentals you will receive a higher certificate - IT Support Technician. This class has IET Academic support but not financial support.
When are the classes?
Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Can I start this certificate if I don't know anything about computers?
We recommend students are comfortable with computer basics before they start this certificate. This means you are comfortable with email, internet and familiar with Microsoft products.
