Pretech for Apprenticeship

You will learn foundational manufacturing skills, choose a career specialization and meet the requirements for Registered Apprenticeships.

• Math for Industry
• Read and Interpret Industrial Blueprint
• How to operate a CNC Machine
• Industrial Safety (OSHA 10 certification)
• Machine Tool Theory
• Employment Success (how to find a job)

Classes are always in the evenings. Depending on the term, you may have more than one class at a time. Most classes are in-person but some are hybrid. Classes are typically 8 weeks or 16 weeks.

You may take only two courses - Industrial Blueprint and CNC Machine Center Operation - and still receive a Pretech for CNC Machining certificate.

• Certifications in Manufacturing can help you get a better job, a higher position at your current job, or a start in a new career. Many students will find jobs while they are still completing their certifications.
• This pre-apprenticeship is designed to prepare students to succeed in a Registered Apprenticeship, which is paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction. You will earn money while learning. Learn more about Registered Apprenticeships here.
• The courses you take in the certificate are part of larger technical diplomas. Your credits from the pre-apprenticeship will help you complete these programs faster: 
  • CNC Setup Technician 
  • Machine Tool Operation 
  • Tool and Die, Manufacturing Engineering Technology 
  • Industrial Maintenance Technician
