Description:
This course meets the NFPA 1001, Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications, training requirements for WTCS Firefighter II certification. (Students must also have completed the Hazardous Materials Operations course, in addition to holding WTCS Firefighter I certification to be eligible for WTCS Firefighter II certification testing.) Through classroom and practical skills instruction, the student will learn to apply advanced firefighting skills and education to mitigate various emergencies.
Class Prerequisite:
Students must have successfully completed and be certified in Fire Fighter I to take the Firefighter II course and to also complete the Fire Fighter II certification process.
Dress code is required.
Rapid Intervention Training (503-810) is included in this class.

Gear Rentals are available for independent students for a $300.00 fee through the WCTC Bookstore.

Any student participating in Firefighter I or II training must be evaluated by a physician or other primary qualified healthcare provider to ensure the student is able to perform the essential firefighting tasks without presenting an unreasonable risk to the safety of others.
