Description:

This course will train the student in the techniques of instruction. The course was designed to provide the FESI I candidate with the information needed to meet the job performance requirements (JPRs) in NFPA 1041, Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, Chapter 4.

Extra Info:

This course will meet in person on 4/6/26, 4/13/26, 4/20/26 and 4/27/26 from 8:00am to 12pm. Additional content will be delivered online, through CANVAS.

Textbook:
Jones and Bartlett Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Principles and Practice, 3rd Edition

Course Prerequisites:

This course will provide additional training in techniques of instruction. The course is designed to provide the FESI II candidate with the information necessary to meet the job performance requirements (JPRs) in NFPA 1041, Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, Chapter 5.


Certification Prerequisite/Entry 

  • A FESI-l candidate shall be at least 16 years of age. 
  • A FESI-I candidate shall have a Wisconsin Fire Fighter II certification.
