WCTC to host third annual Chef Spotlight event on Oct. 6

Gourmet dinner a fundraiser to benefit students, programs

PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025) – Waukesha County Technical College will hold its annual fall signature Chef Spotlight event on Monday, Oct. 6, from 5:45 - 9 p.m., featuringheadshot of Chef David Magnasco Chef David Magnasco, WCTC alumnus and owner of The Chef’s Table, a personalized private dining restaurant and event venue in Milwaukee.

Magnasco will create a magnificent, five-course meal, including carefully selected wine pairings, with the help of WCTC Culinary Management, and Baking and Pastry Management students and alumni.

The gourmet dinner will take place in the College’s training restaurant, The Classic Room, located on the second floor of Building A (Room B-161), on WCTC’s main Pewaukee campus. Cost is $120 per person with all event proceeds benefiting the WCTC Foundation’s Hospitality, Culinary and Baking Advised Fund, which directly supports quality programming and materials that help develop the skills of future industry professionals.

The evening begins with a cheese and charcuterie starter, followed by a five-course seated dinner. The first course is a roasted beet and garlic soup with caraway dill cream, followed by a Sauternes-poached Bosc pear salad with smoked trout and nut-encrusted goat cheese. The main courses include a red wine risotto with duck confit with mushroom ragu, gorgonzola cheese and caramelized fennel, and braised veal cheek with Swiss chard whipped potatoes and root vegetable pave. The meal concludes with a pumpkin pots de creme with ginger snap tuille and cranberry foam for dessert.

“The Spotlight Series was designed to celebrate the achievements of our alumni and strengthen their engagement with WCTC,” said Angie Todd, WCTC’s associate dean of Hospitality & Design Professions. “This event shines a light on the remarkable journeys of our Hospitality, Culinary and Baking alumni. It celebrates their passion, talent and success, while inspiring today’s students to see what’s possible in their own careers.”

Seating for this fundraising event is limited; guests are welcome to attend individually, in pairs or in larger groups, and tables are set for up to six people per table.
