Discuss nursing care for the developing family, including topics such as reproductive issues, pregnancy, labor and delivery, post-partum, the newborn and the child. Apply mental health principles to discern patterns associated with adaptive and maladaptive behaviors. Learn to teach and support healthy family lifestyle choices, and examine the concepts of nutrition, exercise, stress management, empowerment and risk reduction. Study the family through concepts of dynamics, functions, discipline styles and stages of development.
