Service Desk

The Service Desk is a one-stop shop for your technology, media and facility needs. It provides a single point of contact for quick and effective resolutions to daily operational challenges. We are dedicated to meeting the expectations of all staff and students by providing consistent communication and support. The Service Desk can assist with services including, but not limited to:

  • Campus myCard printing and support
  • WEPA printing support
  • Wireless configuration
  • Traditional email and mobile device email setup

MyWCTC, sometimes referred to as "the portal", is a "one-stop" environment for all your computing needs. Once a student logs into MyWCTC, he/she is automatically signed into Blackboard, My Account, (email), and Netstorage (file storage). MyWCTC features announcements about registration, recruitment events, job fairs, and other important news, as well as campus links, college catalogs, the college calendar and student handbook.

My Account

My Account (OIS) is the student information system used at WCTC and can be accessed through MyWCTC. My Account (OIS) is the permanent records storage area for the outcomes of all your course work activities. It allows you to view and print grades and transcripts that can be shared with other colleges and employers.

Students use My Account (OIS) to:

  • Register for classes.
  • View class schedules.
  • View final grades.
  • View and pay tuition bills and/or develop payment plans.
  • View your unofficial transcript.
  • Review financial aid awards.

Student Email (MyWCTC Mail)

WCTC's student email system -- "MyWCTC Mail" -- is part of Microsoft's suite of tools. Students should regularly check their email since this is the primary means by which the college and instructors communicate. In addition to email, the suite also offers students a place to store files, file sharing via the OneDrive, access to Microsoft Office web applications (Word, Excel), instant messaging, spaces for student websites and more. These services remain available to you after you complete your program at WCTC.

Cloud Storage

The upgrade to myWCTCmail and the Office 365 services became available to all students in the fall of 2013. You as students now have access to a more robust OneDrive Pro with 25GB of storage and Office Web apps which allows you to easily create Word, Excel, PowerPoint or OneNote documents. If you were previously using your My Sites for documentation storage, you will need to upgrade. Please follow the directions below to upgrade to the new OneDrive Pro.

To upgrade your MySites

  1. Sign into Office 365.
  2. Click Start now in the pink banner at the top of the screen. If you see a blank page with a block of arrows, stars, and other symbols, don’t worry. The upgrade is progressing.
  3. Once you see the My Content screen, your upgrade is complete.
  4. Click Newsfeed at the top of the screen.
  5. At the Get the most out of SharePoint dialog box, leave both items checked and check OK.
    • Let’s get social sets up the ability for users to follow activities in the newsfeed. Unchecking this option causes you to have to go back and set individual social settings manually.
    • One library is all you need automatically moves any documents stored in your Office 365 to OneDrive Pro. If you uncheck this box, you cannot go back and re-do the action later.

Once the upgrade is complete you will now have access to Office Web apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.


Blackboard is a web-based tool designed to allow students and instructors to interact in online classes, or to use online materials and activities to complement traditional classroom based courses. Blackboard enables instructors and students to work with course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat, online quizzes, the WCTC library, an academic resource center, and more. Students should familiarize themselves with Blackboard prior to the beginning of the semester. Blackboard also has the mobile application, Blackboard, available for phones and tablets available at Google Play, Microsoft and the Apple Store.

WCTC Alerts

WCTC offers free emergency text messaging service. In the event of an emergency or severe weather condition, a text message will be sent to the student-provided mobile number and/or email address that you specify. Login to MyWCTC and click on WCTC Alerts for more information and to sign up for the service.

myCard - Student Identification Card

WCTC students are issued and required to use the myCard as a form of identification and to access services at WCTC.

The multi-purpose WCTC myCard offers many features. Similar to how a "gift" card is used, the WCTC myCard works as a prepaid account card that can be used just like cash on campus. When the balance on the myCard gets low, simply reload or add money to the card. It can be used to purchase items from vending machines, the Hub, the Daily Grind and at other locations on campus.

Anyone in need of a myCard should stop into the Library and visit the Student Enrichment Center, located in the upstairs of the B Building, to obtain it.

Wireless Network Information

Wireless network access is available to currently enrolled students in several locations around the WCTC campus for laptops and handheld devices equipped with 802.11b /g and 802.11n wireless cards. The WCTC Wireless Network provides students access to internet resources only.

WCTC has deployed WPA2 authentication on the wireless network. This allows currently registered students to use the WCTC wireless network by authenticating with their WCTC username and password.

Computer Labs

The Service Desk located in the Student Enrichment Center, in the upstairs of the B Building, open computer lab, is a resource for students who need assistance with student e-mail accounts,, network storage, Blackboard, My Account OIS, wireless connectivity and application software along with basic technology assistance.
