Course Description

Explore the fastest-growing but least understood segment of popular culture: video games. Learn to use a sociological lens to focus on the identities, relationships, communities and organizations that have developed within and around games. Topics include the cultural, social, political and economic factors that have shaped games, developers, fandoms and mainstream culture as a whole.
