CARES Act Emergency Grant Reporting

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provided institutions of higher education with access to federal funds to provide emergency financial aid grants to students whose lives have been disrupted, and to aid with institutional costs associated with the significant changes made to the delivery of instruction due to the Coronavirus. 

Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC)’s portion of the CARES Act aid allocation is $1,935,258. WCTC signed and returned to the Department of Education the certification and agreement, including assurances that the institution intends to use no less than 50 percent of the total funds received under the CARES Act to provide emergency financial aid grants to students. WCTC was awarded and received $967,629 on April 27, 2020 for emergency financial aid grants to students.

As directed by the Department of Education, WCTC is required to provide a quarterly report summarizing activities and expenditures made under the CARES Act for both the institutional and student portions of this funding.  The most current reports for the quarter ending March 31, 2021 are below:
