Description
The 2019- 2021 biennium's training will address a number of issues affecting public and officer safety and will include:
- Reviewing what constitutes a pursuit.
- Reviewing the steps for initiating, continuing, and terminating a pursuit.
- Communication during a pursuit.
- Practical exercises on initiating, continuing, and terminating vehicle pursuits and the communication that should take place during each phase of a pursuit.
If local policy prohibits pursuits or limits pursuit methods, officers will learn how they can act in a supporting role for a pursuing agency.
Mandatory Equipment:
Gun belt with handcuff key. Remove all weapons and ammunition prior to class. Dress for weather conditions.
