Description:
This course meets the NFPA 1001, Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications, training requirements for WTCS Firefighter I certification. (Students must also complete the Hazardous Materials Operations course to be eligible for WTCS Firefighter I certification testing.) Students are given the opportunity to learn, develop and practice the practical skills required to perform as a firefighter, while also receiving the didactic theory required to support those skills and related firefighting functions. This course extends past the entry-level courses to better prepare the student to function as a firefighter while also providing the necessary education and skills to be eligible for WTCS Firefighter I certification testing.

Students will also be registered for Hazardous Materials Operations which takes place during the Firefighter I course. Cost $79.25
Dress code required.
Each student must attend a mandatory program expectation session and choose the date during sign up.

Monday, January 3, 6:00pm - 9:00pm via Zoom
Any student participating in Firefighter I or II training must be evaluated by a physician or other primary qualified health care provider to ensure the student is able to perform the essential firefighting tasks without presenting an unreasonable risk to the safety of others.
