Description
The course will cover legal understandings, including Marsy’s Law, scenarios regarding scenes, and initial contact with victims, suspects, and witnesses. It will also take an extensive examination into the dynamics of domestic violence including; understanding how past trauma and affects domestic violence victims and how to overcome the barriers so that officers can build rapport with victims of domestic violence. Other important topics covered include; strangulation, stalking, and how to identify the primary aggressor. There will be scenarios to ensure a better understanding of each topic.
