Description
During monthly maintenance trainings, the Canine Handlers will be provided with locations and resources to train with the canines in the following: narcotics detection in vehicles and structures, canine obedience, article searches, suspect apprehensions, area searches, building searches, vehicle extractions, tracking/trailing, muzzle work, and handler protection. Additional training may be available each month in the areas of firearms with canines, vehicle bailouts, and scenario based training, as advertised. Decoy will be provided for bite-work; however, students are encouraged to bring narcotics training aids for detection work training. Various locations on campus will be utilized each month to provide varied training environments.
Class size is limited to ten teams each class to maximize training opportunities for attendees, so prompt registration is suggested. Attendance at training will be entered into ACADIS.
