Description
Who Should Attend?
This class is beneficial not only for Law Enforcement but also hospital personnel. There will be case studies applicable for nurses and Multi-Discipline Teams.
Human Trafficking:
- Child, sex, labor trafficking (statues and probable cause needed)
- What to look for, warning signs, red flags
- Street lingo/vocabulary
- Branding
- Pimp law
- How trafficking is conducted in Wiscosnin (websites/apps/street)
Scene:
- Collection of evidence
- What evidence is important in trafficking (pictures, receipts, prepaid cards, traveling tickets, communication devices, etc)
- Type of warrants needed
Victim Interview / Suspect Interview:
- Important questions to ask
- How to approach a trauma victim and not to re-victimize
- Explain why victims of trafficking might remember items/events out of order due to trauma or PTSD
- Self-blaming
- How to interview suspects/traffickers
- Literature that traffickers have used
Case Studies:
- Speak about a MDT case and how we worked together with Advocates, other agencies, and DA office to reach a conviction
- A breakdown of a child and human trafficking cases
Undercover/ Operational:
- How to properly set up a recovery
- Proper Planning
- Do’s and Don’ts of UC
- Roles of Officers in the operation.
