Description

Undercover surveillance can be used in an array of investigations including theft from/of autos, burglaries, robberies and narcotics violations. Surveillance is a skill set that requires a significant amount of hands on training. This training will consist of a short classroom presentation discussing the aspects of planning, risk assessments, conducting fixed surveillance, mobile surveillance, recognizing counter-surveillance and properly identifying safety issues. Officers will then conduct scenarios on the street in the surrounding area and practice fixed and mobile surveillance techniques.

These instructors have numerous years of experience working in plain clothes and undercover details which included conducting criminal, drug, gang and firearms investigations in and around Milwaukee County.

Equipment needed: Police radio, and an undercover vehicle or unmarked squad. If needed, officers from the same department can ride together in the same vehicle, but it is preferred that each officer have their own vehicle.
