USE OF FORCE / DAAT

  • Team Tactics and Controlling a Violent Subject

    Officers will review the 2 officer/1 subject takedown.  Officers will also learn a 3-4 officer/1 subject takedown technique, which is a coordinated team effort for addressing the violent subject who needs to be taken into custody.

     

  • Assertiveness Training

    Officers will test and practice their assertiveness through scenario-based training. Officers will be presented with micro-scenarios while equipped with student RedMan gear and other police equipment to allow them to select an appropriate option, if using force is necessary.

     

  • Gunfight Acclimation Drill

    The purpose of this training drill is to re-create the dynamics, conditions and stressors involved in an armed confrontation between a police officer and a suspect.  The goal is to teach the Mechanics of a Gunfight.

     

    MANDATORY EQUIPMENT: 

    Duty belt, holster, taser holster, flashlight, baton holder, handcuffs, keepers, loose fitting clothes, pants, belt, and body armor.

    NO firearms, ammunition, OC, batons, knives, ect.
