East Asian Brush Painting
Course Description
This course is designed for individuals interested in learning and understanding Chinese and Japanese artwork through brush painting. Using traditional oriental brushes, the student will apply various shades of black sumi ink to different types of rice papers, creating and drawing the stalk and leaves of bamboo plants, oriental orchids, trees and rocks. Basic calligraphy strokes will also be learned. An additional supply list will be handed out the first night of class. No previous art experience necessary.
