  Code of Conduct
  Sanctions for Violations

The College seeks to ensure fair treatment of students subject to disciplinary sanction(s). Any sanction(s) imposed by the College shall be confirmed in writing. Sanctions for violations of the Student Code of Conduct include:

    College Warning

College Warning is official notice to a student that certain conduct is in violation of the Student Code of Conduct and that the continuation of such conduct or action(s) will result in further disciplinary sanctions.

    Disciplinary Probation

The student is placed on Disciplinary Probation for one or more semesters (usually for a period not longer than one calendar year). This disciplinary action is a warning that any further misconduct will subject the student to more severe disciplinary action, which may include termination from the College. This probation may include provisions including, but not limited to, restriction or loss of certain specified privileges, which may include the use of specific areas and/or activities. It may also limit the amount of time the student is permitted on campus.

    Withdrawal Agreement

In certain cases where a student’s behavior and continued enrollment may adversely affect his/her well being or the College, the Director of Student Development, or designee, and the student may agree to discontinue his/her attendance at WCTC for a specified amount of time and agree to conditions for re-admittance to the College. In such instances, the Director of Student Development, or designee, and the student will sign a written Withdrawal Agreement.

    Administrative Withdrawal

In certain cases where a student’s behavior and continued enrollment may adversely affect his/her well being or the College, the Director of Student Development, or designee, will discontinue his/her attendance at WCTC for a specified amount of time. Conditions will be established for re-admittance to the College.

    Disciplinary Suspension

Disciplinary Suspension means the student has temporary loss of student status for a specified length of time, while an investigation is conducted. The student may not attend classes and may not come on College property during the time specified as suspension. This sanction may be used in cases when there is reasonable cause to believe that continued presence of the accused student on campus might present an immediate and definite danger to himself/ herself or other members of the College community, or threatens disruption of College operations or activities.

    Expulsion

Expulsion is an act of terminating a student’s enrollment at WCTC for a semester or more. A student who has been expelled may no longer participate in any WCTC activity or be on WCTC property. Expelled students will receive the Administrative Withdrawal (AW) grade for all credit courses. The AW grade is included in hours attempted. Students will receive a No Grade (NG) grade for all non-credit courses. Refunds are issued at the discretion of the college.

    Restitution

In addition to other penalties a student may be ordered to reimburse the College for any financial loss.

    Other

Other types of discipline that are appropriate in remedying the student's misbehavior may be levied.

Any person not currently a student is subject to the College’s Visitor Policy. Copies are posted at college entrances and available by calling 262.691.5055.

Any sanction imposed under the conduct violations shall be in effect at all campuses/sites or functions sponsored by or under the supervision of WCTC.

The Director of Student Development, or designee, may impose discipline for violations of the WCTC rules of the Student Code of Conduct or other College policies, rules or regulations. The Director of Student Development, or designee, may make such decision whether or not proceedings are or have been pending in the courts involving the same act.
