Payment Information
The monthly benefit paid to you is based on the type of training you take, length of your service, your category, and if DOD put extra money in your MGIB Fund (called "kickers"). If you are receiving a kicker, you must supply the Veteran/Military Benefits desk a copy of your kicker contract. You usually have 10 years to use your MGIB benefits, but the time limit can be less, in some cases, and longer under certain circumstances. Payment charts
The VA will send you a benefits award letter once they have confirmed your eligibility. In order to receive the funding listed in that award letter you will be required to certify your enrollment with the VA each month online or call 877.823.2378.
