  Financial Aid Eligibility

    The following criteria are necessary to qualify for most federal and state financial aid programs. You must:

    • Be admitted into an associate degree or technical diploma program.
    • Be enrolled for at least six credits per semester (three credits in summer). Pell Grants may be available to high need students enrolled less than half-time contingent on federal funding.
    • Be a United States citizen, National, or permanent resident of the United States.
    • Maintain academic progress towards completion of your degree or diploma. This status is evaluated every semester.
    • Not be in default on a student loan.
    • Not owe a "repayment" on any Federal grant or loan.
    • Be registered with the Selective Service, if you are a male. Register online.
    • Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate, or pass a test administered by WCTC.

    Please note that not all programs of study at WCTC are eligible for financial aid. WCTC Certificates, Advanced Technology Certificates, and Apprenticeships ARE NOT eligible for financial aid. In general, all Associate Degree and Technical Diplomas are eligible for financial aid except for those listed below:

    • Central Service Technician
    • EMS Basic
    • EMS Intermediate Technician
    • EMS Intermediate
    • Fire Services Certification
    • Language Interpreter/Health Services
    • Medical Coding Specialist
    • Nursing Assistant
    • Phlebotomy Technician
    • Truck Driving

    The following programs are eligible for very limited financial aid. Loans and other aid will be prorated

    • Dental Assistant
    • Health Unit Coordinator

    WCTC participates in a few collaborative programs. This means you may be taking your classes here at WCTC but you apply for financial aid through a different technical college. If you are admitted into one of the following programs, you must apply for financial aid at the school listed.

    • Clinical Laboratory Technician: MATC Milwaukee (003866)
    • Electroneurodiagnostic Technician: Western Technical College (003840)
    • Radiography: MATC - Milwaukee (003866)
    • Pharmacy Technician: Lakeshore Technical College (009194)
    • Physical Therapist Assistant: Blackhawk Technical College (005390)
