    Admission Checklist

    • Apply to WCTC
    • Student must be 18 years of age; 21 years of age if you want to drive commercially out of the state.
    • A good driving record is required. Your record must show that no more than 5 points have been taken away in the last 5 years. A DUI cannot be on your record. Your driving record will be examined prior to entering the course. Please provide a copy of your driver’s license.
    • A learner’s permit for the Class A CDL, with air brakes is required. This is similar to the learner’s permit you acquired when learning how to drive a car. Contact your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to pick up a study booklet and make an appointment to take the written test to receive the learner’s permit.
    • A DOT physical examination and drug test is required. Please make an appointment with the Community Nursing Clinic located on the WCTC Pewaukee Campus for the physical and drug test. To schedule an appointment, call 262.695.1888.

      Copies of all the checklist items need to be turned into Paula Weikert (262.691.5439), Department Administrative Assistant located in I-142 of the Industrial Building.
