70-credit associate of applied science degree
Nursing Informational Video:
When investigating what nursing program to enter you need to consider the quality of its graduates. All nursing graduates of both ADN and BSN programs must take the same national licensing exam (NCLEX) after graduation before they can work as a Registered Nurse. The National Council of State Boards of Nursing looks at 8 quarters or 2 year averages for first time pass rates. The national average in the most recent report is 87%.
WCTC is proud to say that our average has consistently exceeded the national average and is the highest in all of southeastern Wisconsin at 96%! So our graduates are able to confidently start their nursing careers and transfer their credits to a 4 year college when they are ready to continue their education.
By integrating the art of nursing with
bio-psychosocial science courses, the
A.D.N. system-wide program prepares
students to take the licensing exam to
become a registered nurse. After
licensure, graduates will be ready for
responsibilities including management,
delegation of client care, and
collaboration with other health care
providers in the health care delivery
system. In addition, students will have
developed a nursing practice that values
diversity and individuality.
Formal training as a nursing assistant and
certification in CPR must be completed to
be eligible for entry into clinical nursing
courses. Communication, analytical,
group effectiveness, and personal
management skills will aid the successful
completion of this program. Nurses
require physical stamina and a strong
focus on personal wellness.
