COMPASS Assessment
What is the COMPASS Assessment?
- COMPASS is an individualized and untimed computer based test. You will use a mouse to select or highlight your responses. Computer skills are not necessary.
- The COMPASS placement test measures your proficiency in the areas of reading, writing & math. Your scores indicate areas where you are strong and areas in which you may need help.
- The COMPASS is a series of short basic skills tests developed by American College Testing (ACT). Most students complete the test in 2 to 2 ½ hours.
- We use COMPASS results to promote success. Your results give us information about your academic strengths and needs in relationship to your desired program of study.
- Scores are used to assist with academic planning and course selection. Course placement may be developmental in nature and not apply to your program; however, these courses will help you build basic skills needed for success in your program courses.
