A maximum of 75 percent of the major subject area credits
and 75 percent of the total credits required for the program
may be awarded through credit transfer/advanced standing.
For credit transfers, official transcripts from all previously attended institutions must be received from the awarding institution
for credits to be considered for credit transfer.
Grades received through transfer and examination will not
be computed in grade point average.
Whether written, oral or demonstrated, a performance examination
must be passed for credit to be awarded for the knowledge and
skills gained outside of WCTC's curriculum. To ensure that course
standards are maintained, this examination must be approved
by the associate dean in cooperation with the faculty responsible
for offering the equivalent credit. Proficiency examinations
can only be taken on one occasion for a particular course.
No fees will be charged by WCTC for receiving transfer credit, prior degree credit or experiential learning
credit.
Refer to the WCTC college catalog for specific information on fee assessment for proficiency exams.
