Accreditation/Quality Improvement
Action Projects
Action Project One
Improve/enhance student learning through appropriate pre-enrollment assessment and placement.
In order to enhance student success, there needs to be proper placement of students in courses as well as in programs through assessment (testing) and counseling, advising and/or mentoring. Explore the possibility of a process that allows opportunities for re-assessment of goals that can create positive changes for students in their educational plans. Include strategies to measure and track learning throughout the student’s experience at WCTC. Students need to be placed in classes where their readiness and preparation to learn is appropriately matched to the content and methods of the course.
Assessment and goal-setting along with tracking seem to be key.
