Tiny Tech Child Care
Staff-Instruction
The staff and teachers at the WCTC Child Development Center act as facilitators of the children's learning and mentors to future educators therefore they must bring to life our vision on a daily basis. With this in mind, we recruit and hire those individuals that we believe share our beliefs about how children learn and have knowledge and understanding of quality early childhood programs. Our teaching staff is committed to life-long learning and is encouraged to be active leaders in the field through continuing education and mentorship opportunities.
Our program is staffed by professionals and WCTC students with varying degrees of education and experience. All of our primary teachers have either bachelors or an associate degree in early childhood education or related field. Student workers, practicum students, Early Childhood Faculty and volunteers supplement the staffing and assist the lead staff with the implementation of the program. All staff has pediatric first aid and CPR training.
The WCTC Child Development Center serves as a laboratory school for the Early Childhood Education Department which educates and trains students to work with young children and their families in a variety of roles. The WCTC Early Childhood Education Associate Degree program includes a study of curriculum, methodology, and implementation in preschool, kindergarten, and primary settings. Students are provided opportunity to design environments and enact integrated learning experience for language development and early literacy, reading, art, music, play, social studies, science and mathematics for children. Students also learn how to aid children in constructional knowledge. Weekly practicum experiences at the WCTC Child Development Center play an integral part of this learning. Students on-site allow us a higher adult to child ratio, more time for individualized instruction as well as access to the latest early childhood trends! Students are always supervised by an Early Childhood Faculty member or a Senior Teacher.
