A phlebotomy technician's chief responsibility is drawing blood and conducting other specimen collections. The phlebotomist must recognize any conditions that might alter collections, correlate types of lab tests to the written diagnosis, and communicate with both the laboratory and the patients to provide the best care possible. In the Phlebotomy program, you will learn to draw blood from a patient for laboratory analysis, understand lab test requirements and maintain specimen quality.
- Upon program completion, be prepared to take the Phlebotomy certification exam.
