Medical assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and other health practitioners running smoothly. You will gain the skills necessary to work closely with a physician or other healthcare provider through the Medical Assistant program. Taking health histories, measuring vital signs, administering laboratory tests, performing electrocardiograms, administering medications, and assuming responsibility for office or clinic management are just some of the supportive healthcare services you will learn to perform.
- Work toward your degree in stages by completing the Medical Office Coding/Billing certificate.
- Upon graduation, you will be eligible to take the certification exam through the American Association of Medical Assistants to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (AAMAE).
