If you want to communicate with children or adults who are deaf or hard of hearing, and use sign language, this course is for you. Learn to sign a fun and natural way. Using a context of daily activities, you will find yourself immersed in the beautifully expressive American Sign Language, the third most used language in the US. You will learn ASL grammar, fingerspelling, and numbers, and also have the opportunity to learn appropriate behaviors to show awareness and respect for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing when you encounter them in social, business, or educational settings. A workbook and videotape are to be purchased the first night of class. Please call the bookstore 691-5304 for questions.
There is no prerequisite for this course.
