510-479C Psychosocial Issues and Aging

A series of seven (7) courses has been developed that will provide an understanding of the aging process and examine issues of concern to the older adult in today's society. The target audience is healthcare providers interested in the care of older adults. These are Internet only courses. Waukesha County Technical College is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Each course is being offered for five (5) contact hours. Course Description: Examine the factors and relationships that affect the older adult. Participants explore a variety of topics such as Alzheimer's and other dementias, depression and dealing with loss. It also covers drug and alcohol concerns.
